The level of Lake Atitlan has risen over the past few years due to heavier-than-usual rainy seasons to levels unseen for generations. This has caused loss of agricultural land, homes and businesses. As well as sinking all the non-floating docks. But – thankfully – life seems to keep going on, more or less as usual.
