Monochrome street photography from San Pedro de la Laguna, Solola’, Guatemala.
Watching the rain from a cheap cantina.
Just takin’ my shadow for a walk…
Restaurants are already open…
…but churches are closed…
…so we’ll do our evening prayers in a restaurant!
All photos taken in 2013. Hope you enjoyed!
what a coincidence!! 2 people from different parts of the world used a word today which I had never heard before! love the ‘chiaroscuro files’ 🙂
Sound more like a conspiry than a coincidence… what are the chances?
Thanks, Know-All! 🙂
Alessandro Caravaggio … 😉
Troppo buono, Covetotop! 🙂
I really enjoyd. Great work with light, you and Caravaggio! 🙂
Now i’m having fun trying to imagine what Caravaggio could have painted had he seen the beautiful faces and colors and light of Guatemala…:)
Love these, as always.
Thank you, Ann!
A big thank you, Cee!
Trovo le prime 4 fantatiche! Complimenti per il chiaroscuro. 😉
Grazie, Krossmann. Much appreciated… 🙂
Its funny how language and art works….. the gringo I am put “chiaroscuro” in google translate… well you can imagine the smile on my face when it returned the same word. 🙂
Your use of light to tell a story is still fascinating.
Haha! Some words prefer to travel than to be translated 🙂
Thanks for your lovely comment, MikeP!
Well, eating comes before praying … as the book says 😉 Inspiring as ever, Alessandro!
Or you could go for soul food – and get both at the same time… 😉
What’s good soul food is my stomach is growling 😉 Di niente Alessandro. I promise to be more regular here. Baci.
I love the way you put people in your work, Alessandro. So respectful and with gentle humour.
Great title! : )
Thanks, Karen. This comment means very much to me: i will cherish it.
I think a big part of it is – i truly do love and respect my subjects. Though they only ever see me once, i become very well acquainted to them, when i process and look (over and over and over) at their photos. They become old friends, in a strange one-way deal. And, well, i wouldn’t want my new friends to not look their best…
