PEOPLE SQUARED V – beach portraits

Summer is winding down, here in the northern hemisphere. Making pictures of summer seem even more out-of-this-worldly.

Do i have to smile for the portrait? No, Javi, a scowl is just fine.

Do i have to look into the camera? Nah, Sevi, try looking at the setting sun...

I hate looking into the camera. Fine, Sevi, look at the setting sun, instead…

Hey, photographer, this is not at all what i had in mind when i asked you to take a portrait of me...

Great pose, Pato! Now, smile…

If the world was indeed a stage, you probably wouldn’t catch this photographer portraying the made-up beauties prancing around in the spotlight, center stage. I’d be off near the margins, talking with the technicians, the fixits, the cleaning staff. The small, real, unpolished people that keep the entire bandwagon running in a million quiet, unpretentious, invisible ways.

To freely paraphrase Mark Twain, let us learn to appreciate the small people in our lives, for one day we may find those were the great people.

Hope you enjoyed,
