PRIMAVERA! – Roman spring streets
What is Rome like in springtime? It’s gorgeous, it’s stunning, it’s breathtakingly beautiful! That is what these happy tourists seem to think…
Have been back from Mexico and Guatemala for a while now, and pretty much been busy SEO-ing three months worth of photography, which is no mean feat. Much computer time, little time for picture-taking.
Then, last week, i took a workshop on Photographic Reporting, and after the morning briefing, we were assigned the theme “Tourists in Rome.” One of my favorite subjects, in one of my favorite cities. Part one of two.

Great set, Alessandro!!! And Roma is full of images to capture. The subject… tourists… wow… a crowd in the city. Good selection!!!!
Yes: many people. And, especially, many cameras – so nobody even notices the random street photographer among the tourists…
Thanks, Santi!
… and much easier to shoot than wildlife! Nice work Alessandro!
Oh, yes: much easier. Thanks for the comment!
I always love your street photos and their captions š Anyway, I really like the second photo’s framing
Thanks, Muthe – i nearly got trampled by a horse to get that second shot… š
Wow! Well, thank God you’re safe and got the capture š
Haha. We give you so much fun. Is the antidote marketed outside Italy? It would sell like hot cakes – or do I mean burgers? I’ll eat Italian ice cream any day!
Haha is right. Tourists are ever new, ever the same, in a predictably kind of unpredictable way…
Thanks, Andrew!
Oh yes to Primavera! : )
Si alla primavera! (finally…) š
Reblogged this on Instacandid.
Thanks for the reblog.
my pleasure
The caption on the McDonald’s photo made me laugh. What a great set of images! Nice job!
Laughter is another great antidote… Thanks! š
Spring in Rome would have been paradise for a frozen soul, maybe next time. PS. I will try to remember the mozarella-trick… š
The mozzarella tip is great for large groups in noisy places – gets them all to concentrate and smile at the same time, with eyes open and teeth showing.
I’m quite sure that Rome would love to have you, if only for a few days… š
Yes, it is nice for you to be able to blend with the photographing crowd and do your thing :D. Next time I am in Rome I will remember to say mozzarella :D. But seriously, I think I was pretty lucky to visit it in November with exceptionally gorgeous weather and smaller crowds…
If one could choose, the ideal time to be in Rome is early spring to middle of summer, and end of summer to mid-autumn. Which is more or less when you’re most likely to catch me in the “citta’ eterna”.
PS. if i’m here when you are, i give free tours to blog followers… š
But I am not interested in seeing more tourists, I want to find empty places :).
