AMOR – Roma, reflected
Allow me to show you the city of Rome, possibly as you’ve never seen it before – reflected in shiny metal boxes.
Parked cars kidnap normal people of vital space, especially in such a cramped city as Rome. There are parked cars everywhere. Where ordinary people can’t drive, you may find a Carabinieri car or a chauffeur waiting in his shiny limo for the local politician.
Someone conce commented about the general absence of cars in my photography. Today i am posting pictures of cars. Nothing but pictures of cars. Even though they thankfully don’t look or sound or smell like cars.

What a great idea. Can you do Rome through a Vespa lens next?
that will require some thinking. the nicer vespas are the older ones, and they are everything but shiny…
thank you andrew š
I love the idea! Congrats!
thank you, emy š
There is a law in the US that says photographers must photograph reflections at every opportunity. You must have the same law.
haha. good one! (and so true) š
but, sadly, no. unfortunately, laws don’t really count, in italy…
These are unique and fascinating. I love that lens! š
thank you, but no special lens: i took these with a compact camera – the distortions are due to the uneven surfaces of the car parts they were reflected in
š
I must have commented on the wrong photos. I didn’t see the car post. I was looking at the fisheye photos of the buildings. I guess I’m guessing correctly about the lens? Forgive me, I’m one notch below amateur here. š Anyway, the distortions in the photos of the buildings astounded me. George
Excellent series, and good choice of colour over b&w on this occasion.
Opinion shared, btw…! ;~)
thanks rudolf.
i am not so happy with the way black and whites look on wordpress, so i am slightly moving away from the monochrome i so much prefer š
Another example of awesome Italian creativity. Congratulations, Alessandro!
thank you, covetotop
tried to put an unlovely thing to good use š
Fantastic, Alessandro! Creatively beautiful and interesting.
thank you, karen
i’m glad you like them, especially as they are so different from what you photograph š
I love this series – please don’t back off on the b/w though. I would miss that a lot, despite the imperfections of WordPress.
that is encouraging to know – thank you ann.
and please don’t worry. for some things (street photography, portraits…) nothing works like black and white š
Complimenti interessantissima questa serie!
grazie, krossmann! š
Brilliant photos!!!
thank you, spiritual world traveler! š

A brilliant idea for a photographic theme. I salute you, Alessandro!
thanks calvin. plus, it can be done anywhere there are cars. which is to say, just about any city in the world š
Super idea. Congratulations.
thanks, mirjam š
YES! These reflections are wonderful, dreamy, surreal… I want to see more!
thank you, iltana.
am working on more already… š
Very very cool! You definitely need to do more of these. Love them! š
